There is something about the city that never sleeps. It never pauses. Its pulse moves faster than any one of us can keep up with. And yet, in the midst of that motion, I saw them — the walking monks.
They were not rushing. They were not performing. They were not demanding attention or recognition. They were moving with intention, step by step, steady, measured, disciplined. In that simple act of walking, they commanded quiet authority. The noise of the city cannot drown out this authority.
Watching them, I realized that peace is not passive. Peace is not an idea. Peace is not something you quote on a social media post. Peace is action. Peace is discipline. Peace is a choice that begins with your body, before it ever reaches your words.

This past week, as we prepare for the Road to the Apollo, we are traveling from campus to campus. We are moving from community to community and church to church. I can’t stop asking myself what energy I am bringing into every space I enter. Am I carrying ego? Anxiety? Impatience? Or am I carrying intention?
The Road to the Apollo is not just a tour. It is not simply a performance strategy. It is a cultural pilgrimage. It offers a chance to gather young artists. It helps to nurture discipline. It works to cultivate excellence. It elevates culture in a way that is visible, tangible, and lasting.
The monks walk with intention. They remind us that discipline can be quiet. Courage can be still. Power does not need to be loud. We can learn from their rhythm, their presence, their example.

I reflect on the work ahead. I am reminded that leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It concerns the energy we bring. It involves the example we set. It includes the peace we cultivate within ourselves and extend outward.
So today, I ask you — move differently. Approach your work differently. Carry your ambition differently. Let your presence be intentional. Let your steps reflect purpose. Let your peace be visible.
Because the world does not need louder voices. It needs steadier ones. It needs disciplined action. It needs intentionality. And maybe, just maybe, the revolution we seek does not roar. Maybe it walks, step by step, in quiet courage.
Follow our journey on the Road to the Apollo. Witness discipline. Witness intention. Witness culture in motion.
And let us walk with the same care, the same conviction, and the same purpose as the monks we follow.
