New York City’s East Village favorite, Panna II Garden Indian Restaurant, is back in the spotlight. The restaurant was featured in FX’s hit series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette as the couple’s first date location.
Although JFK Jr. and Carolyn didn’t technically have their first date here, they often visited before the rush hour. They preferred to stay away from the paparazzi. They enjoyed the restaurant’s intimate atmosphere. Owner Boshir Khan says business has surged 20–70% since the show premiered.
Fun fact: Sex and the City and Daredevil were also filmed here. This fact cements Panna II Garden as a NYC pop culture hotspot.
