NEW YORK — Nurses at Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Morningside and West reached tentative agreements on workplace violence. They also addressed safety issues during negotiations on Thursday.

At Montefiore, nurses reached tentative agreements on safe staffing. They added coverage so that nurses can take breaks during 12-hour shifts. This ensures that patient safety is not compromised.

The announcements, made Friday morning by the union, mark the most progress in a single day since the strike began. The strike entered day 26 on Friday.

Nurses are expected to rally at Montefiore Bronx later Friday morning.
