Dr. Pratik Sandesara of Emory Healthcare advises, “We should not raise the alarm. We should not tell patients to stop taking all their melatonin.”
Melatonin is naturally produced in the body to regulate sleep. Short-term supplementation can be safe and effective when used responsibly. Good sleep habits remain the most important factor for heart health.
